Social Sponsorship

In an era where social media can help people find missing dogs or be a way to meet up with old friends, one Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver decided to use Twitter to help find sponsorship for his car and it appears to have worked.


Go Fas Racing and DiBenedetto have worked together the last 2 seasons. While Go Fas is financially stable they were still looking to add a sponsor or two for the race ahead this weekend at ISM Raceway in Phoenix. DiBenedetto took to twitter asking fans if they know a CEO or president of a company that would be looking to sponsor the car this weekend, the video was only 80 seconds long. 


Within minutes he was receiving messages from fans responding asking questions about pricing. Then some fellow competitors offered some money to help sponsor the car, Kevin Harvick, winner of the last two MENCS races, with his company KHI management, Denny Hamlin driver of the #11 for Joe Gibbs Racing along with Fox Sports Broadcaster and former driver Darrell Waltrip with his company Boogity Brands each offering 5,000 dollars.


Within hours Go Fas Racing had raised an additional $15,000 dollars in sponsorship for the race this weekend. This just shows how fellow competitors feel about Matt Dibenedetto and how he has earned their respect.


Dibenedetto then post a second video hours later saying that the team was doing fine financially and that he would compete all year with or without sponsorship and he wanted to thank everyone for helping Go Fas Racing. He also hinted that the team also might be in need of sponsorship for a few other races.
